St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry 10.30.14The Prayer Shawl Ministry Group meets on the campus of Christ the King in the St. Francis room every Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Prayer shawls and lap blankets are a treasured gift of prayer, contributing to the mission of the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine. Our volunteers meet weekly to knit, crochet and quilt. Each shawl is blessed and has a St. Peregrine medal sewn to it as a reminder of the prayers coming their way from the volunteers who lovingly spend their time crafting the beautiful shawls and lap-blankets, while praying for those who are facing cancer. The shawls are then touched to the First Class Relic of St. Peregrine before mailing out.

For more information about joining the prayer shawl ministry please contact Charlotte Volkman at giraffevolkman@cox.net.
